Elephant just takes 3-4 hours sleeping at night, so elephant eats and plays most of the time. Elephant can eat all day. An elephant will eat 200 kg of food and grass in one day. Elephant needs water about 200 liters each day. In case of working or commuting, elephant has many ways to spare food such as grabbing grass in its snout, or putting the grass in its ivory space. At Mae Ta Marn Elephant Barn, elephant will be feed by grass from its mahout since early in the morning and all day other than sugar canes or bananas from tourists.
